History We appreciate the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you. Stroud's Auto Rebuild has been in business since 1962 at the same location. Mr. Harold Stroud began in the same building and grew the business, developing a reputation for quality repairs and customer service, until his retirement in 1987. Stroud's strives to maintain the same emphasis on quality repairs and customer service that have been a mainstay of this shop since the beginning.
Services We offer autobody repair and painting; muffler replacement; and mechanical services, e.g., alignments, installation of lift and lowering kits, shocks, brakes, and batteries. We provide a lifetime warranty to the original customer for as long as they own the vehicle. We also offer professional restoration services, custom paint work, and accessories to customize your vehicle. [home][back to top]
Facilities A reliable facility should be clean, safe, and stocked with quality repair equipment. Our facilities offer state-of-the-art repairs to all makes and models of automobiles. Stroud's Auto Rebuild has invested in the best. Our precision Car-O-Liner® frame equipment ensures you a perfect, factory-grade alignment of your car or truck. We guarantee to straighten frame damage to the vehicle's original factory specifications. Our modern downdraft, baking paint booth, and ICI Autocolor paint system allows a matching and enduring finish. This is a basecoat/clearcoat (or commonly called a two-stage) paint. It is guaranteed for five years by ICI and an additional five years, pro-rated by Stroud's Auto Rebuild. We also use a urethane-acrylic paint guaranteed for three years by ICI. The paint is applied in our DeVilbiss Concept/Cure Down Draft Spray Booth. This provides a clean, well-lighted spray area to isolate shop dust and dirt from the painting activity. It provides a safe means of controlling and removing paint over spray and hazardous vapors from the spray area. It is designed to meet OSHA requirements. The cars stay in the booth and we turn on a heater to transfer high temperature, filtered air into the booth. This warm air is recycled for best fuel economy. The car's paint is cured for 25-40 minutes at approximately 140 degrees. We use Robinair A/C Recovery units for air conditioning unit servicing that meet EPA standards for recycling R-12 refrigerant and for the new "earth-friendly" CFC-134 refrigerant. This equipment recovers the refrigerant used in the auto's air conditioning system to prevent its being released into the atmosphere and damaging our ozone layer. We can dry the refrigerant and store it to eventually be recycled. A Hunter front-end alignment rack is used with its integrated computer to accurately align the wheels on vehicles, when such an adjustment is required. The specifications for almost 900 models applying to 95% of the vehicles on the road is included in the database, which is updated annually. Our technicians have been ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) trained and certified, and receive updated I-CAR (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) training for the latest procedures and techniques. I-CAR is the best national training available for unibody repair. It covers collision damage repair, plastic repair, and such new systems as air bags and anti-lock brakes. We obey the federal, state, and regional guidelines for hazardous wastes and emissions, recycling our waste paint and thinners with a national company, Safety-Kleen. Waste paint is blended into composite fuels used in cement kilns. Used thinner is recycled and used as thinner again. Nothing is put into landfills or down the drain. Waste oil and antifreeze are also recycled. [home][back to top]
